Q&A:

by Giles Douglas

Question by Bballingirl: 3 subs wired “series parrallel” at 2.67 ohm load. Will this…?
work. Option 1 (series/parallel) = 2.67 ohm load
Voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 2 or 1 ohm mono ( info supplied from the12volt.com)
The subs i have are 4ohm dual voice coil.

The total power will be 1,200 watts RMS ( each is 400 watts rms), do i HAVE TO HAVE a 1ohm stable amplifier???? what should the max rms be?

Would a phoenix gold amp rsd1200 work?
it rms at 775 @ 4ohm
rms 1200 watts @ 2ohm

Is NOT 1ohm stable?

Should i find an amp that is 1ohm stable?

or do i need a different amp that is 1ohm stable?
